Video Cipher II Plus Diagnostic Screen Data V 1.07 1) 01234567FFAF 2) 3:00000 2:0000 1:0000 0:00000 3) 0000000 000000 4) 00 XXX-YYY-ZZZ OE-1 5) 0000-0000 00000-0000.00 0000 6) C0-3E-30 0 5046 0-0-00000 7) 0006-0931-0454 4-0-01 00000 8) 0.00E-00/2.00E-06 00 S:S To enter the diagnostic mode, tune the receiver to a VCII Plus encrypted channel, then press the SETUP button followed by 0 (zero). You'll see a display similar to the above. To reset the "hit" and "good frame" counters, press 0 (zero) again. 1) This is the unit ID number. Do not use this number to order programming, but use SETUP 1 1 (one, one). 6) The first number (C0) of the first group is the DBS Service Provider ID. The second group (3E) is the monthly epoch. The final group (30) is the channel ID. 7) The first four numbers of the first group (0006) is the "hit" counter. A hit indicates an authorization signal update. The second group (0931) is the DBS Messages counter. The final group (0454) is the "good frame" counter. This should go up by 70 within 10 seconds or you may have a signal quality problem. 8) The second cluster of numbers (00) is the audio hold field. An audio hold indicates the ability of the receiver to successfully descramble the signal. If this is anything other than 00 (zero zero), the descrambler is having trouble decoding the signal. This could be a signal problem (S:S with 03, 04, 05, 0A), terrestrial interference (TI) or missing authorization (S:NS, S:MP, S:OC). The last cluster (S:S) indicates status. Common VC II Module Status First Letter: S = Full Scrambled F = Fixed Key P = Processed Unscrambled S:S The unit is fully authorized for this channel, you should have video and sound. S:NS This unit is not authorized to receive this channel. No video or sound. S:MP This unit has never been authorized or is tuned to a cable only channel (also happens when there is a signal problem). S:OC This unit has not received the monthly update (epoch) or the unit is defective. S:CB This program is blacked out in your area. S:SL This program is locked out due to the ceiling rating.
