1. (Tue) We went to Florence’s for dinner. It snowed all day.

8. (Tue) We went to Mr. Burges' funeral. Florence's hand was bad so I stayed all night.
9. (Wed) Florence has blood poison in her hand. The Dr. put her to bed.
10. (Thu) Aldene's and Allen's 12th Anniversary. Florence is better. I came home this after noon.

1. (Mon) We went to town and the girls and children came home with us. The boys came out for supper and stayed all nite.
2. (Tue) Marie's birthday. Allen, Jim and the little girls went to town early. The girls stayed and we took them home after dinner.
3. (Wed) I went to the Dr. and to Mrs. Andersek's to the Ladies Aid. Mrs. Markel came out to Mrs. Frazee's house with me.
4. (Thu) Harry A. birthday. Up to 80 today. I went to see Lillie this afternoon. She was sick last night.

7. (Sun) I went to the Dr. again. We went to S.S. and Church and it just poured and rained from eleven o'clock till way in the night. The water was up to the running board coming home. I lost 2 of the biggest chickens.

28. (Mon) We were at Jess' again. They started to thresh clover but it began raining about 10 so they had to quit. This is a terrible night.
29. (Tue) It rained all night and nearly all day to day. We worked in beans all day.
30. (Wed) The Ladies Aid met at Sadie Stones this after noon. I didn't go this road is so bad. It rained nearly all day. Boyd finished digging potatoes today.
31. (Thu) Rained nearly all day again.
1. (Fri) I have been alone all day. Boyd helped Jess move a building. It rained this A.M.
2. (Sat) We went to town this after noon. I bought me a new coat. Elsie got her a new coat too. The baby burned her hand awful bad. Aldene and Agnes are at Florence's.
3. (Sun) Jim and Florence and Aldene and Agnes got up to Virden about 10:30 last night. We went to S.S. and church and to Aldene's for dinner. We were all there but Frank's. Had roast duck, chicken, and oyster dressing. Iva and Ella were here this evening.
4. (Mon) We went to town this afternoon. I got me a new coat and new slippers. Aldene got her a new parler suit to day. I sold $41.41 of ducks and chickens this morning. I took my coat back and got another.
5. (Tue) They began shucking corn to day.
6. (Wed) I helped Boyd shuck corn this morning and went to the Ladies Aid at Aldene's, got home at dark.
7. (Thu) Noie and Mr. and Mrs. McBride were here this after noon.
8. (Fri) Mr. Drennan was bad today. Boyd was there.
9. (Sat) Allen brought Aldene and Agnes here early. We went to town after dinner.
10. (Sun) Florence and Jim and Mr. and Mrs. Cane got here about 1:30 last night. It rained all morning.
11. (Mon) Armistice Day - Jim, Allen and Bill went up to Edna's hunting but never got a thing. They started home about 5 o'clock.
12. (Tue) I washed this morning.
13. (Wed) I ironed and went to the club meeting at Mrs. Dr. Hays at Farmersville with Lillie and Noie.
14. (Thu) I washed curtains and windows this morning and made me a dress this afternoon. It has rained Tues, Wed, & Thurs. Jesse Lucile has infection in her hand.

16. (Sat) I dressed a chicken and baked 3 pies this morning. The baby's hand isn't any better.
17. (Sun) We went to S.S. and church, stayed at the church for dinner. Aldene and Agnes went with us to Simm's. Jim and Florence came up, went to Jess' for dinner.
18. (Mon) I went to Mrs. Jessup's funeral with Edwin & Flossie. I helped with the singing.
19. (Tue) I washed and made me an apron to day.
20. (Wed) I ironed and sewed all day.
21. (Thu) I went to town with Mrs. Frazee and Metta to a quilting at Mrs. Mumy's. 18 above zero.
22. (Fri) 8 above 0. I went to town this after noon.

24. (Sun) We went to S.S. and church and to Jess' for dinner. Stopped on our way home and seen Mr. Clark and Mr. Drennan. Both are in bed. Allen and Aldene and Agnes, Jim, Florence and children were here for supper. Curt and Emma were here all evening too.
25. (Mon) I washed and ironed to day.
26. (Tue) I went to Ladies Aid at Mrs. Frazee's this after noon.
27. (Wed) I dressed 2 chickens this morning and went to town this afternoon. This is an awful bad night. The phone is out.
28. (Thu) Thanksgiving - Jim and Florence got here about 11 o'clock last night. Aldene, Allen and Agnes came out for supper.
29. (Fri) 0 this morning. I washed my curtains in the dining room.
30. (Sat) 5 below. The men hauled coal and shucked corn this after noon. It sure is cold.
1. (Sun) It is so cold and stormy we didn't go any place. Allen and Aldene and Agnes came out for dinner. They went home early, thot the roads would be drifted.
2. (Mon) 1 above at 7 o'clock. Boyd went to town. I washed.
3. (Tue) 6 below. We butchered 3 hogs. Just got along fine. Was all done in good time. Allen and Agnes came out for supper.
4. (Wed) 4 above. Allen's left early. Boyd went to town. It is awful pretty out to day.
5. (Thu) I worked with meat all day.
6. (Fri) I finished up the meat to day. I sure was glad.
7. (Sat) We went to town.

16. (Mon) I washed to day. Went to town.
17. (Tue) I went to Lillies this after noon. Still bad.
18. (Wed) This is the Ladies Aid day at Mrs. Struble's, but it is the awfulest blizzard I ever seen.
19. (Thu) The roads all drifted full yesterday. The men are shoveling snow to day.
20. (Fri) Zero this morning. Boyd is working on the road. I made candy.
21. (Sat) Still cold and working on the road.
22. (Sun) Home all day alone.
23. (Mon) Franks's got to Virden about 9:30 last nite. They started out home to day and had to wait at Mr. Drennan's till we went after them in the wagon.
24. (Tue) Frank helped on the road too this morning. They got it cut through at noon. Agnes went home after dinner.
25. (Wed) Christmas - The children were all home but Jess'. They didn't come. Mr. Drennan's and Mr. Cox's came in the eve. All seems to have a good time.
26. (Thu) Frank's and Boyd and I went to Florence's for dinner and to Jess' for supper. The roads are bad.
27. (Fri) Frank's went home this morning. Left here about 8 o'clock.

46. Scarlet Fever was very contagious. The patient would be quaranteened, which is why Allen's sister, Marie went to stay with her grandmother, Myrtle. After Allen recovered, the house was "fumigated" to try to remove any of the germs that might cause the illness.
47. Boyd and Myrtle did not own their farm. They were renting the McBride place.
