3rd Annual Western Maine Fire Attack School, May 15-17, 2009

Please follow the links for the 2009 Western Maine Fire Attack School registration, course description, and station flyer for our 3rd Annual FAS! These are also posted on our homepage at http://www.frandford.org Thanks to great support we are able to keep our costs to students the same for 2009 ($150 for the weekend) and also include Bethel Fire Departments famous BBQ for Saturday night at no extra charge for students attending this years School!

Other training news includes that Bethel FD and Peru FD will be sponsoring SCBA courses this spring. (J&B Block 2 certification) Bethel's class is planned for early/mid March and Peru's for early/mid April. Stay tuned for exact dates and locations. We'll send out a note as soon as things are confirmed. As in the past, we'll run these classes for new members, those wanting refreshers, as well as for support roles for other FD members.

There is also a "Shorthanded Firefighting" course offered by the folks that put on the Central Maine Fire Attack School on Saturday, March 14th in Waterville. Information on this is available from the homepage of http://www.mainefireonline.org

For those that missed the S212 Wildland Powersaws courses at WMFAS the last two years you'll be happy to learn the Maine Forest Service will be offering this class at their Wildland Fire Academy this June. At this time their Academy is planned for Thomas College in Waterville the first two weekends of June. We'll send more info as its available. S130 and 190 are required for the S212 class.

An elevator safety and rescue class and a wide area search course are also in the works for this spring!

Stay safe and train often!
