Exercises & DrillsThe Oxford County EMA Exercise Program provides an avenue for all emergency managers and responders, specialty rescue and support personnel to experience a large complex incident. The purpose of an Exercise Program is to test the plan or plans that have been created for a particular facility, crisis or large event. Our program consists of drills, tabletops, and functional and full scale exercises centered around incidents at private facilities, schools, hospitals, and involving hazardous materials, terrorism and large-scale events. Those attending drills and exercises include members of Fire Departments, Law Enforcement, EMS, Hospitals, Hazardous Materials Teams, Private Facilities, State, County and Local Agencies, Local Emergency Managers and Non-Profit Agencies. Exercises have proven to be invaluable in the planning process, as well as for testing standard operating procedures in the field. After an exercise is complete, the work continues through the After Action Review (AAR) process. We track the improvements that are made in addressing any shortfalls or deficiencies that were demonstrated during the exercise. This may include additional training, targeted drills, follow-up exercises or the revision of the plans that were tested during the exercise. |
