Hazardous Materials Training Grant Requests

  • All requests for funding must be forwarded to you County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) office. The county EMA director will work with the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) to acquire the correct approval signatures and have MEMA review the application.

  • Requesting agencies must be National Incident Management System (SIMS) compliant in order to receive funding. Requests for training/funding are no longer qualified for approval unless the requesting agency has met all current NIMS requirements.

  • Requests for training funds need to be submitted in a timely manner. This should included time to be received by the County EMA office and approval by the LEPC and to be recommended that grant applications be submitted to your county EMA office forty-five (45) days prior to the scheduled start date. Further, any grant application received by MEMA less than 20 days prior to the scheduled date of the class may not be approved.
