Up

Minutes from August 16, 2007 Exercise Meeting

Canton Fire Department, 5PM

Conops frequencies would be assigned and used in a large event. They would only be programmed in base stations or vehicular radios, not on portables. We may need to look on getting written permission to get the programmed into radios.

Let us know what classes your organization needs to take in order to become NIMS Capable:

            Chief/Deputy Chief needs IS 700, IS 100, IS 200, IS 300

Lieutenant needs IS 700, IS 100, IS 200

Entry level/first responder needs IS 700, IS 100

We can offer classes and training over the course of the exercise to get everyone to the level they need.

MCI training is being planned out to be completed before they completion of the exercise cycle. By the end of September it is hoped to have everyone through module 1, which is to design, develop, and implement a plan for all services. Other modules will be worked on through the cycle to go over command functions, roles and responsibilities, using the MCI trailer, and getting the providers involved.

The scenario will be based on the objectives needed to be achieved by the various organizations involved. The number of casualties could be determined by the hospitals and how many people they needed to achieve their goals, and there could be a more in depth terrorist plot to get law enforcement more involved. There is also planned a shelter drill, and evacuation of a nursing home and high school.

The amount of organizations involved in the exercise will probably involve multiple unified commands with the support of IMAT vehicles and command vehicles to stay within the span of control of a large incident.

Also discussed was:

-The possibility of bringing three communications centers together

-The major role of the hazmat team would be casualty decontamination

-Bringing plans and resource lists to the tabletop

-Decon protocol at the hospitals, and whether patients would have to be      decontaminated twice
