The Lewiston Public Library offers concerts, dance, films and dramas through their arts program. L/A Arts is a non-profit organization that brings artists from around the world to perform and work in the twin cities of Lewiston and Auburn. In addition to enriching the community with great artist, L/A Arts has created a booklet that lists all the cultural diversity of the area. Every year L/A Arts had a an arts auction where residents can purchase works by some of Maine's most talented painter, sculptors, and photographers.
Bates College offers programs to the
local schools as well as to the general community.

Every May the Maine State Parade is held in Lewiston. Over 100 units compete for money and trophies. There are marching bands, drill teams, floats, horses and antique cars. French heritage and culture remain a strong
influence in the community. Every July the Franco-American
heritage is honored and celebrated with traditional French foods,
entertainment, crafts, and cultural displays. The "Festival

gatherings.
The annual Balloon Festival is held in August.
This has become our biggest celebration of the summer. It host a
variety of events in both Lewiston and Suburn. Craft fair are
located in both cities. The huge hot air balloons are launched in
Auburn early in the mornings and again at 5:00p.m. every evening
and sail over the Lewiston-Auburn area. Residents may even
purchase tickets for a ride in a hot air balloon. If you were not
afraid of heights, this would be a great way to see the entire
community. This festival marks the end of summer. To learn more
