Home-Nest Farm Facilities & Reservations

Description: 200-acre farm located in hill and lake country with a 65-mile panoramic view of the White Mountains.  18 miles west of Augusta.  1.5 miles from Route 17.  Farm animals in residence:  1 llama; 22 sheep; 2 horses; and 1 donkey.  (Sorry, animals are not for hire.)
Open: Year round.  Reservations required.
One-night web bookings accepted year round for Josiah's Suite.  Two-night minimum stay July 1-October 15 in all other facilities.
Rates: House Rentals (East Wing of the Main House; Lilac Cottage; Red Schoolhouse; or Lakeview Annex):
  • Daily Rate:  $140
  • Weekly Rate:  $700
  • 2 Weeks:  $1,300
  • 3 Weeks:  $1,800
  • 4 Weeks:  $2,200

East Wing first floor only:

  • Daily Rate:  $120
  • Weekly Rate:  $600

Josiah's Place (2nd floor of East Wing includes a single and a double bedroom with a shared full bath):

  • Single Night:  $100
  • Daily Rate 2+ Nights:  $80

If the rent is shared by more than one family unit (as husband, wife and children), there is a multiple occupancy surcharge of $20 per day for each added family unit.

Three historic homes and one new home are available with complete housekeeping.  Guests prepare their own meals in well-appointed kitchens.  Complimentary welcoming provisions cover up to several days of breakfasts.  The larders are well stocked with fresh fruit, homemade bread/muffins, eggs, juice, coffee, jams and jellies.

EAST WING OF THE MAIN FARMHOUSE

Dates from 1784.  Has 1-3 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room,  parlor, 2 fireplaces, kitchen, and  porch.  Rates.

LILAC COTTAGE

Circa 1800.  Has 2-3 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room, kitchen, woodstove and sun deck overlooking the White Mountains.  Rates.

  • 1 bedroom with pull-out couch & private shower (downstairs)

Constructed 2004.  First floor has open living room/dining room/kitchen, plus full bath; second floor has two bedrooms and 1/2 bath.  Central heat plus iron woodstove.  Rates.
