Why Stay at Grady's West Shore Motel?

Our small size (only 4 rooms) helps make us unique. Because we are small you never have to deal with a crowded beach area or wait to use one of the boats. We do all of our own cleaning and maintenance and, as we have a vested interest, you can be sure that our rooms are clean and well maintained. We are also proud of the landscaping and our flower and herb gardens.
Our size also makes it possible to offer some activities that larger properties can not. Weather permitting we offer tubing in the afternoon, lake cruising in the afternoon and evening around our beautiful lake (at no additional charge) and in the evening we offer a campfire at the beach.
(We started doing this so that the kids could make S'mores but we have found that the adults enjoy the camp fire atmosphere as much as the kids.

Many of our guests have made lasting friendships. Many reservations are made to coincide with others they have met in previous stays. Over sixty percent of our guests are returning customers Many of our guests come back several time a year (there are so many beautiful times of year).

About the lake

Highland Lake is somewhat unique. Because it is the third largest lake in town ( approximately 5 miles long) it has remained less developed than some. Most of our guests are very surprised that the lake is so quiet and not a highway of constant boat traffic. There are islands for picnicking and blueberry picking. There are loons to be heard and families of ducks to be fed. There are undeveloped shorelines and mountains off in the distance. There is an occasional moose to be seen and, of course, there is fishing. The swimming and wading are great with crystal clear water and the gently sloping sandy beach offers water activties for the youngest to the oldest. Enjoy some or all of our activities or climb into the hammock, listen to the lake sounds, and read a good book.

About Bridgton

We took our first family vacation here twenty years ago and we have been hooked ever since. On the day we would pack up to leave we would start the count down to the next arrival day. We did this for twelve years. Finally we had to make the move, because one or two weeks were never enough. The scenery and the atmosphere and activities called to us to make a change in our lifestyle. We are very glad we did.

The town of Bridgton has changed some, but has kept its small town charm. There are grocery stores, drug stores, hardware stores, book stores, a wine shop, gift shops, many antique stores, and a large variety of restaurants from pizza and sub shops to fine dinning. Bridgton has one stop light; a hospital and many small garden rest areas. Have you been to Reny's? (A Maine adventure in discount shopping.)
