I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to attend Americade 98 in Lake George N.Y.. The Americade is always the first week in June. As they say... getting there is half the fun. It was a bit cool riding thru the mountains. (Thank god for longjohns) But it sure felt good to be cruising and checking out the scenery. There were many picturesque towns and villages along route 202 and 9 traveling from Maine. The views from the mountains were fabulous.
Planning the trip was a snap. The Americade has a super website with all kinds of info. I found it helpful in finding some last minute accomadations at the Travelodge. Other than some rain on the ride back home, the whole 4 day adventure was enjoyable and quite memorable. It was great hanging out with an old friend (Uncle Mark) and meeting some new ones (Sally, Bob, Marion, Rick and Helen).
