2008 Western Maine Regional Exercise

Minutes for September 20, 2007 Exercise Meeting

Canton Fire Department, 5PM

Organizations Present: NorthStar Ambulance, Livermore Fire Department, Oxford County EMA, Dixfield Fire Department, Androscoggin Sheriffs Office, Canton EMA, Sumner EMA, Androscoggin EMA, Franklin Memorial Hospital, Androscoggin COBRA Team, United Ambulance, Greenwood Fire Department, Regional Resource Center, NewPage Regional Response Team, PACE, Buckfield Rescue, Stephens Memorial Hospital, Med-Care, Auburn Fire Department, Oxford County Regional Communications Center, Decon Strike Team #4, MEDEP

Some resources and needs for organizations participating:

DST –  Needs water, dump container, EMS

Med-Care – Has 6 ambulances 1 is designated Direct Support to RRT, MCI Trailer, IMAT 1 Mobile Command Vehicle

Stephens Memorial Hospital– Hazwoper team, needs security, water, level C Capable

Buckfield – Has 2 ambulances, 17 basic EMT’s

Pace – Has 5 ambulances, 1 is designated Direct Support to DST

NewPage – Has 1 truck and trailer, 1 WMD truck, cascade trailer, 24 techs, need ops for decon and water

NorthStar – Has 17 trucks, 7 fully staffed

Livermore Fire Department – Has water, 10 ops trained personnel, boat

Dixfield Fire Department – Has water, couple ops

Mexico Fire Department – Has tanker, County Mobile Cascade System, NOMA forestry trailer

Canton Fire Department – Has water, pumper, boat

Sumner EMA – Set up shelter at Buckfield High School

Greenwood Fire Department – Has 2 pumpers, mobile cascade, hazmat trailer

Androscoggin EMA – MERV (Command Vehicle), which can be used as a communications backup, weather station, self sufficient, trained staff and drivers

COBRA teams – Has trucks and trailers, decon capabilities, designated ambulances, 21 technicians, and needs water

United – 16 ambulances 1 is direct support to Cobra team, MCI Truck

DEP – 28 technicians available, 2 on call at all times

OCTOBER 20 TABLE TOP – YOUR ORGANIZATION MUST ATTEND IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FULL SCALE EXERCISE!!!

 Starts at 8 am through approximately 11:30 am

Please bring:

Maps of your area

Your organization’s plan (i.e. IAP, EOP, Disaster Plan, SOP, SOG)

A rough idea of your organization’s communications capabilities/limitations

An idea of your organization’s equipment capabilities/limitations

An idea of how many personnel you could bring to an event on any given day
