Mass Casualty Incident Training ProgramModule 1- IMAT 1 & MCI TrailerThis module will introduce the participants to the Incident Management Assistance Team concept, familiarize them with the Oxford County IMAT vehicle, explain the capabilities of the vehicle, and explain the requesting and dispatching procedures involved with the vehicle’s response to emergency scenes. The second portion of this module will be to introduce the participants to the Oxford County Mass Casualty Incident Trailer. This program will familiarize the participants with the equipment contained on the trailer, the capabilities of the trailer, the hook-up and safe operation of the trailer, and the requesting and dispatching procedures involved with the trailer’s response and utilization at emergency scenes. Module 2- Step Up To Mass Casualty IncidentsThis program is the newly adopted Mass Casualty Incident training program adopted by Maine EMS. This program covers how to effectively perform and handle a Mass Casualty Incident event. This program covers key processes and positions required to properly and effectively handle a Mass Casualty Incident. Module 3- Having A Mass Casualty Incident PlanThis program will cover in detail how to develop a Mass Casualty Incident Plan, review the current Med-Care Plan, and explain how to develop Standard Operating Procedures and Field Operation Guides to implement the plan at an MCI. Module 4 – Mass Casualty Incident – EMS Command FunctionsThis program will discuss the roles and responsibilities of the EMS Commander within the NIMS Unified Command System. It will break down in detail the needed sections,branches, divisions, groups, and assigned positions to effectively command and efficiently operate at an MCI.
